An Examination of Conscience for Children Using the Beatitudes (Matthew 5: 3–11)
First Eucharist 2021-2022
Parents want what is best for their children and provide all that they need to be happy. Temporary happiness is found in things, places and personal accomplishments. Lasting, forever happiness is found only in Jesus.
Knowing about Jesus is not the same as knowing Him. Without a personal love relationship with Jesus, a child will loose interest in learning about Jesus and what He teaches. The world will do everything in its power to distract children from knowing Jesus personally.
Building a personal relationship with Jesus comes from interacting with loving parents at home in a life that is centered on God. From the family into a parish community and out in the world, the child's Catholic identity provides lasting happiness. The world will pass away, but God is forever. One God for all people to know, love and serve.
Join St. Mary's Visitation community at Mass each Sunday to encounter Christ in the most intimate way possible this side of heaven. Recharge for the days ahead knowing you've given you child the kind of happiness that is forever.
