Stem Shuttle Visits SMV
St. Mary's Visitation hosted the Dream Flight USA STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Shuttle. The STEM Shuttle is a 45-foot, 20-ton tour bus called the "Spirit of Education," and is a hands-on activity center where SMV students spent time on board at different work stations learning to design a space station, work in space, fix the Hubble Telescope, learn about lunar and solar eclipses, and more. Engineering Design on a Dime: "In a Wisconsin classroom, Kylie Daemmrich's fifth graders have a problem. They have to send a potato chip to another classroom, keeping the chip intact. The problem? Her students can’t use any traditional packing materials like bubble wrap or packing peanuts.
