Special Services
- MT (Multidisciplinary Testing) is available from the school district in which a family resides. These are free services, and must be applied for either through the school and/or parental contact with the school district offices. The screening takes place in cooperation with St. Mary's School.
- Supportive Consultant Program- Under the auspices of the Archdiocesan Office of Child and School Ministry, Mrs. Catherine Smaglik, Ms. Sue Benson, Mrs. Mary Schneider, and Mrs. Betsy Wilinski have been trained and certified as Supportive Consultant and as such have established a Supportive Consultant Program at St. Mary's School.
- Upon request of faculty members and/or parents, a child may be screened to assist the teacher in identifying areas of concern or need for remediation in the curricular areas of learning.
- Special screening materials, recommended by the Child and School Ministry Office, are used to aid in the process for such identification.
- Upon completion of the process, a meeting is held with the parents and teacher involved. The results of the screening, as well as recommendations, are discussed
- Should the results indicate the need for further consultation with outside agencies, such will be called upon to best service the needs of the child.
- Ms. Sue Benson works with students designated by their teachers for exceptional assistance on a limited basis. She works primarily with students in Grades 1-3.
- Mrs. Reesman is a certified Reading Specialist and occasionally will assess students who are having reading difficulties.
- Mrs. Colleen Pennell is the K4 – 5 grade Resource Teacher.
- Mrs. Shawn-Anne Pierner is the Junior High Resource Teacher.
