Anointing the Sick

style_element
Members of the parish facing surgery or other medical procedures or tests are invited to receive thesacrament of the Annointing of the Sick. Anointing is for those Christians whose health is seriously impaired by sickness or age. Ideally, one is anointed while still capable of active participation. Holy Communion is viewed as the last sacrament of a Christian's life. No longer is anointing considered "last rites" or Extreme Unction. Through anointing, the Church supports the sick in their struggle and carries on Christ's healing ministry.

The Sacrament of Anointing affords the sick the support of the Church in their struggle with illness of whatever kind.

This Sacrament of the Sick is available Mondays after the 6:30 a.m. Mass and Thursdays after the 8:00 a.m. Mass.

Anyone unable to attend Mass or receive the sacraments in Church due to illness/age, should call the parish office to make arrangements for receiving the sacrament.
