The Adult and Family Formation program at St. Mary’s Visitation Parish addresses the needs of the approximately fifteen hundred family units in our parish focusing on integrating sacramental, spiritual, social, and service programs. Family units include traditional and nontraditional, single and two parent families, young adults (single and married, with and without children), and single and married adults without children.
Adult sacramental formation (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults and Adult Confirmation) together with family and adult spirituality, enrichment, and education are the areas overseen by Adult and Family Formation. Programs are both short-term and on-going and are offered through and use the resources of our parish, our quad-parish collaborative group (St. Mary’s Visitation, St. Joseph-Wauwatosa, St. John Vianney and St. Dominic, Brookfield), our District (Eastern Waukesha County) and our Milwaukee Archdiocese. There are many special interest areas including ministries to young adults, divorced and widowed, women, men, families, and singles. Programs include scripture studies, small faith-sharing groups, intergenerational events, M.O.M.S., Theology on Tap, Theology on the Mount, and Blood Drives, to name a few.
