First Communion
First Communion
Parish children in 2nd grade enter into preparation for First Communion. Preparation includes instruction about the Mass and prayers, lessons related to the Eucharist, a parent only class and a special preparation day for both parents and children. Children receive instruction through curriculum in St. Mary's Parish School or in Religious Education classes for parish children not attending the school. At the completion of instruction a special liturgy is celebrated on the first Sunday in May. Special preparation for older children who have not celebrated Eucharist or Reconciliation is offered through the Christian Formation Office each fall.
