Baptism

Parents seeking baptism for their child are expected to complete a preparation class. These classes, offered bimonthly, are opportunities for parents to learn about the sacrament and their parental responsibilities in faith as well as providing a means for parents to examine and renew their own faith commitment and practice. Parents are urged to complete these classes prior to the birth of their child.

Baptism will be celebrated on the first Sunday of the month during Mass, (5pm, 7:30am, 9am or 11am will be available), so that the entire community may be present and the relationship between baptism and Eucharist may be clearly seen. On the third Sunday Baptisms will be held at 12:30pm. Baptism will not be celebrated during Lent. Baptism Schedule

At least one of the parents should be a practicing Catholic member of the parish, and at least one of the sponsors needs to be a confirmed practicing Catholic of at least sixteen years of age. Please remember that the Church encourages parents to have their children baptized soon after birth. Although no specific time is stated, it is generally understood that this should be done within a month or two of birth.
