SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY

Picture
The Visitation Institute School of Theology (VIST) aims to equip parishioners and guests with a deeper understanding of the Church's faith, through more rigorous and comprehensive studies of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the Church's history of Fundamental/Dogmatic Theology, Moral Theology, Liturgy, the Sacraments, and Prayer.

HOLY MASS, THE EUCHARIST, &
THE LITURGY OF THE CHURCH

Over the next few semesters, the VIST classes will be joining the Church throughout the United States in working to foster a deeper understanding and love for the Eucharist and Holy Mass.

To begin this process, we will be studying Fr. Jean Corbon's modern classic The Wellspring of Worship.  Fr. Corbon (+2001) was a French Dominican and Melkite Rite Priest based primarily in Lebanon where he served for many years as a Liturgy Professor.  His deep insights into Liturgy & Prayer were embraced by both St. John Paul II and Cardinal Ratzinger in the writing of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, for which Fr. Corbon was the ghost writer for the entire section on Prayer and was also a major contributor to the section on the Liturgy.

Classes begin after Easter on April 27th and run each Thursday from 9:30-11:15am in the Senior Center, ending May 25th.  There will also be an evening session (6:30-8:15pm) available if there is enough interest.

For more information, please contact Josh Dieterich, jdieterich@stmaryeg.org or 262-782-4575 x109.
